Finito di vedere la quinta ieri sera. Che dire? Sono triste.
Di norma non uso la parola capolavoro o genio (che poi alla fine tutto è capolavoro e genio). Ma qui siamo a un livello di scrittura straordinario. Devo pensarci ancora bene e poi magari scrivere due righe.

The Los Angles Police Department misclassified nearly 1,200 violent crimes in 2012 and 2013, reporting stabbings, beatings and robberies as minor offenses in its published statistics.

Changing the classification of the crimes resulted in 14% fewer total aggravated assaults reported, according to an investigation by the Los Angeles Times.

The Times reviewed more than 94,000 crime records. In nearly every case when a crime was coded incorrectly it turned a serious crime into a minor one.

LAPD officials told the Times that the department, which records more than 100,000 serious crimes a year, "does not in any way encourage manipulating crime reporting or falsifying data. The LAPD's own auditors agreed that 89% of the cases identified by the Times were incorrectly classified.

In the middle of the Times' year-long investigation, the LAPD implemented stricter classification standards. The number of aggravated assaults reported in the first half of 2014 rose 12%, compared with the year before.

HBO will remain in the David Simon business. The premium cable network has ordered two new pilots from creator of The Wire and Treme. The first, a 1970s/'80s porn drama titled The Deuce, has snagged boldface names James Franco and Breaking Bad’s Michelle MacLaren as the potential series' star and director, respectively. The second series, a political drama that’s still untitled, is set in the present-day world of Capitol Hill and will provide a detailed examination of partisanship and the influence of money on national governance.

Me l'ero perso, l'ho visto ieri sera; davvero molto molto bello, grazie per la segnalazione. E Oscar Isaac, che ricordavo principalmente per Inside Llewyn Davis dei Coen è davvero bravissimo qua, uno che che buca lo schermo di brutto. Scimmia + aspettative altissime per Show me a hero.
