Dai a 40 anni gli Happy Mondays sono strafichi, i Nirvana già a 30 anni sono un (grandissimo) gruppo per liceali, segnano inevitabilmente il passo.

Dentro c'erano canzoni memorabili, che dicevano quello che un quattordicenne voleva sentirsi dire, ma più forte, con l'epos che il punk non aveva mai avuto.

 

Io non li ho messi per rispetto della mia storia forumistica: quando m'iscrissi a questo forum, nel lontano dicembre 2002, esordii dicendo che Kurt Cobain avesse fatto bene a uccidersi, venendo ricoperto di insulti dall'utenza dell'epoca. Del grunge non sono un grandissimo fan comunque: l'unico gruppo che davvero ho amato sono stati gli Screaming Trees. Altri che hanno fatto cose di mio gusto Green River e Mudhoney. Ho messo i Pearl Jam perché non sono un gruppo grunge, ma un gruppo pop rock che ha fatto danni enormi, ma anche scritto un disco fatto di canzoni supreme.

Dentro c'erano canzoni memorabili, che dicevano quello che un quattordicenne voleva sentirsi dire, ma più forte, con l'epos che il punk non aveva mai avuto.

 

 

 

Mah, io li ho vissuti in diretta, comprai Nevermind il giorno dell'uscita o giù di lì. È un grandissimo disco con canzoni mostruose [*] e l'ho consumato, ma è a tutti gli effetti un disco per adolescenti. Lo è nelle tematiche trattate più che nel suono che resta un classico. Musicalmente non hanno inventato nulla che gli Stooges o i Ramones non avessero già fatto, ma questo non è importante quando hai canzoni così.

 

[*] gli altri due no (Bleach e In Utero) non mi venite a dire che sono belli perchè non è così. Non sono assolutamente all'altezza del capolavoro, mi lasciarono indifferente all'epoca e mi fanno cacare adesso. Nevermind negli scaffali avrà sempre un posto d'onore, ma da qui a mettermi ad ascoltarlo ce ne corre.

Fra tutti gli album della mia classifica, Nevermind è quello che forse ho ascoltato di più', a volte anche 2-3 volte al giorno, poi l'ho messo da parte e da allora non l'ho più' ripreso. E forse è stato questo il suo limite, ma mi piace pero' pensare che forse doveva essere questa la sua filosofia. E' però innegabile la sua importanza storica nel rock in genere, su questo non ci piove al di la' della sovraesposizione che ha (inevitabilmente) avuto.
