THE BEATLES BACK CATALOGUE has been digitally remastered and is due for release on September 9, 2009. This brace of reissues will coincide with the launch of The Beatles: Rock Band video game.

Each album will feature the original UK artwork, expanded sleevenotes and rare photos. For a limited period, each CD will also be embedded with a brief documentary film about the making of the album. On the same date, two new Beatles box sets will also be released.

As MOJO reported in our White Album Anniversary issue, the albums were remastered at Abbey Road Studios over a four year period.

In addition to the 12 original Beatles albums and Magical Mystery Tour, Past Masters Vol. I and II (the 1988 B-side/alternate version compilations) have been collated into a single title. This is also the first time the Fab's first four LPs (Please Please Me, With The Beatles, A Hard Day's Night, Beatles For Sale) will be available in stereo CD format. These 14 albums, along with a DVD collection of the documentaries, will also be available for purchase together in a box set.

The Beatles in Mono, a second collection, will gather all of the band's recordings in their original mono mixes. It is set to feature 10 of the band's albums and a further two discs in the Past Masters mould. The mono Help! and Rubber Soul reissues will also include the original 1965 stereo mixes (not been previously released on CD). All will appear in mini-vinyl CD replicas complete with original sleeves, inserts and label designs.

FENNESZ LIVE GRATIS A VICENZA
Dal 18 al 26 aprile a Vicenza vi sarà la prima edizione di "Vie d'acqua", primo festival cittadino dedicato al tema dell'acqua. Concerti, installazioni, incontri, percorsi e mostre che dureranno per una settimana. Accompagnato dai visuals di Giuseppe La Spada, il 23 Christian Fennesz presenterà il suo ultimo album, "Black Sea", in una cornice suggestiva come quella dello storico porto cittadino (ora piazza). Il concerto è gratuito.

Interpol's lead singer, lyricist and guitarist Paul Banks will release a solo album under the name Julian Plenti, according to the Matador Records blog. The new project, "Skyscraper," will be released on August 4th.

Banks has written and performed under the Plenti moniker for several years, according to a source close to the situation. While the album was recorded recently, some of the songs were written more than ten years ago. The album is described as having a "cocky, sexy" feel, with tracks that sound similar to Interpol, as well as some straight-ahead guitar rock songs.

Già l'aveva segnalato khonnor nei concerti ma trovo giusto dare più visibilità alla notizia: a 7 anni di distanza da Arrhythmia, in seguito al quale si sciolsero per seguire strade soliste, tornano gli Anti-Pop Consortium con un nuovo album dal titolo Fluorescent Black su Big Dada in uscita il 09.09.09 (O_O).

Si era già parlato della reunion per l'ATP, ora è ufficiale anche il nuovo album in studio.
I Polvo hanno firmato per la Merge, loro etichetta già ai tempi di Cor-Crane Secret e Today's Active Lifestyles e usciranno con un nuovo album dal titolo In Prism il prossimo 8 settembre.
Come già per i concerti non dovrebbe essere della partita il batterista Eddie Watkins sostituito da Brian Quast.

Lisa Germano has completed a new album. It�??s called �??Magic neighbor�?�. It�??s in production now, and it�??ll be out mid September. Lisa hid herself away for a long while, and I was beginning to despair, then suddenly this beautiful music started coming my way. I think this is one of her best albums yet. The depth of feeling in her words and singing is truly remarkable, and she never fails to tug at my heart. Somehow it�??s both sad, wistful, and hopeful, all at once. It's very private, solitary music. In my view it's deeply engaging, and I often stop what I'm doing and drift off with it into its' world when I listen to it - time and troubles disappear for a short while.  For some reason her music reminds me of early Disney songs �?? fuzzy and dreamy. Thinking about it today, I also thought of the great �?? and neglected �?? music that Tom Waits did with Crystal Gail for the movie �??One From The Heart�?�.
