People who are anti-CCP, what's your most pro-CCP opinion?
I live in Taiwan, so you can guess I’m no fan of the CCP. However, I have to acknowledge that they have been doing a good job with the economy and in boosting Chinese pride. Ruling a billion people is horrendously difficult.
Something very important for us in Taiwan is that the CCP is holding China together. If their grip loosens, there will be contention for power, which could easily (practically inevitably) escalate into fighting. If fighting started, very quickly somebody would think of using Taiwan strategically, as a base, and I’m afraid it wouldn’t be Mr Nice Guy. People in Taiwan would be in for a rude awakening; we would quickly lose the nice life we have now.
E sotto fra i commenti:
Yes. For any other parties (if there were), the best way to get support from public is to launch a war to take over Taiwan. CCP is supported by more than 90% people in mainland China (believe it or not) and this ironically guarantees the security of Taiwan.
Infine, il capolavoro:
I used to think TW could give the good example of Chinese political system but now, it is the example of all the failures of democracy system: endless dramas of selfish politics.
Anzi no, questa è anche meglio:
Personally, I deem that no matter DDP or KMT, ‘democracy’ is often seemed to be used as a political tool to deceive normal Taiwanese in order to fulfill the political party’s or even some politicians themselves’ own selfish desires.
By the way, what about moving to mainland China after graduation? In recent years Chinese governments have launched many politics encouraging Taiwan youngsters to study, work and live in mainland China. I think you can get more chances for personal developments in mainland China than Taiwan itself.
