Ho un aspetto tremendo, e non bado a vestirmi bene o a essere attraente, perché non voglio che mi capiti di piacere a qualcuno. Minimizzo le mie qualità e metto in risalto i miei difetti. Eppure c'è lo stesso qualcuno a cui interesso: ne faccio tesoro e mi chiedo: "Che cosa avrò sbagliato?"

Ah, il film dell'asinello! L'avevo già citato una volta in un topic.

 

Bresson è un regista particolare, sobrio e con una cristianità molto forte nei suoi film (perlomeno quelli più famosi che ho visto).

Per quanto mi riguarda una dei film della vita. Opera imprescindibile sia a livello estetico che "morale".

Una scena finale di rara bellezza con gli animali protagonisti... come non provare compassione per il povero asinello?

 

P.s: riprendo questo commento di Ingmar Bergman (famoso per le sue critiche velenosette ai colleghi) preso da Wikipedia.

Non lo metto in dubbio. Però mi fa strano che il buon Ingmar non abbia colto la metafora umana nell'asino, che bisogno c'era di dichiarare "human being is always interesting" quando in AHB la vicenda umana è sempre presente, anche e soprattutto sotto le spoglie di Baldassarre il ciuco?

Ho sempre sospettato un'ispirazione da Storia dell'asino di San Giuseppe di Verga.

Non so se Bresson conoscesse così bene Verga, l'ispirazione letteraria maggiore è beninteso quella di Dostoevskij.

Un grosso debito d'ispirazione viene da un racconto di Cechov su una cagnetta. La parte del circo e' praticamente la trasposizione fedele del racconto, sostituendo la cagnetta con l'asino.
