Una delle canzoni di cui sono più gelosa. Dal minuto 2.30 mi si spezza il cuore in quattro, eppure potrei ascoltarla per ore senza stancarmi mai

Qua Elton John mentre spiega a parole che, insomma, la ragione ci porta a prendere due strade diverse e quindi "there's no sacrifice", nello stesso tempo enfatizza in modo magistrale proprio la parola SACRIFICE spalancando i rubinetti della tristezza abissale.

 

 

E qua Dolly Parton, ispirata dalla fine del suo sodalizio con Porter Wagoner, che l'aveva portata alla grandde popolarità ospitandola nel suo show televisivo

Una delle migliori dei Red House (band amata in cui non mi riconosco più come una volta, ma che sempre grandissimi sunt), inserita in un album cosiddetto minore e in una versione più brutta di quella che hai postato tu. Che è sull'antologia, se non sbaglio.

Il primo verso dà già i brividi.

Mi è sempre piaciuto il giochetto di questa strofa poi:

I Travis mi sembrano un gruppo più da malinconia uggiosa scozzese che da tristezza cupa vera e propria, il pezzo che hai postato poi mi sembra abbastanza sereno.
