Baraka, che era stato in Italia anche pochi mesi fa, non penso abbia mai inciso dischi. Era perlopiù un poeta, critico musicale e drammaturgo.

Quando l'ho visto ci teneva molto a darmi i volantini elettorali di suo figlio, candidato a sindaco di Newark.

Baraka fu un personaggio abbastanza disgustoso:

io ho un bootleg (siano lodati i blog) di Frank Wright in cui Baraka legge le sue cose su un tappeto free jazz.

Purtroppo il 25 gennaio è morto anche Arthur Doyle. Ce lo segnala il "nostro" ottimo Federico su Blow Up.
Come giustamente lo definisce Fede era un musicista irregolarissimo, protagonista dei più estremi approdi del free jazz americano…Ha inciso anche con Sunny Murray, Hamid Drake e Takeshi Mizutani..
Aggiungo solo la partecipazione in The Black Ark di Noah Howard e Babi di Milford Graves...
e poi la Celestrial Communication orchestra di Alan Silva.
Adesso vado a d ascoltarmi il capolavoro Alabama Feeeling e poi Kim Gordon and the Arthur Doyle Hand Cream (qualcuno ricorda Sonic Nurse dei Sonic Youth?).
